Reef Balls!

What’s a Reef Ball? Reef Balls are artificial reef structures approximately 4 feet wide and 3 feet tall. They are made with pH-neutral concrete and specialized surface features to enhance algal settlement. They do not leach toxins into the water, and do not contain biologically active compounds.

Clean Nova Scotia‘s new Atlantic Reef Ball program creates, installs, and monitors artificial reefs in near-shore coastal areas. These Reef Balls can help foster the re-growth of coastal ecosystems.

Clean was in need of some print materials to promote and communicate this new initiative. For this project, we designed a handout (above) and this large display panel (below).
