This weekend was the 2013 Atlantic Journalism Awards, and we were up for an award for a project we put together last year for CBC Nova Scotia. The AJAs are an annual event which recognizes journalistic excellence and achievement in print and electronic news media in Atlantic Canada. I’m thrilled to say we received the Gold Award – for Best Multimedia Feature!
The project was an extensive multimedia piece called “Road to Nowhere” exploring the history, issues surrounding and future possibilities for the Cogswell interchange in downtown Halifax. Working with a small team at CBC, I was responsible for the graphic design and web development.
I had a fantastic team to collaborate with on this project, and great content to work with. Kudos to the CBC for putting the resources into this and experimenting with new ways to tell stories online! We put a good deal of time and effort into this. The public response was positive – but this kind of industry recognition means a lot.
And, here’s a snapshot of the award!
